Digital Hearing Aid / Deaf Awareness / Volunteer Befriender Training

What is covered in the training:-
This training details what our charity does, its services and its client groups. It also provides information for new Befriending Volunteers about what role they would take part in within the charity and what would be expected of them. We also provide an overview of our Development Project and the variety of services the charity provides to 50yrs+ hearing impaired throughout Ayrshire.

There is a section on “Understanding Hearing Impairment” which provides interesting statistics and facts about the Hearing Impaired community. In addition there is a section on “Communicating with the Hearing Impaired” which gives insight into how to effectively communicate with hearing aid users and it also covers communication tactics.

During the training we also cover “Community Care Services” this gives information about local council services which are available to the hearing impaired.

The Digital Hearing Aid Workshop is a very hands on practical workshop where you are given the opportunity to learn how to work the hearing aid properly as well as change the battery and re-tube the mould.
